Chillin' at the pool

Adelaide had her first real trip to the pool yesterday and she LOVED it. She was so brave! After only a few minutes of mommy holding her, she wanted to walk off in the baby pool.

Check her out:

Can she get any cuter??!?!??!?!

I am in the process of setting up a YouTube account with videos. I am going to mark them private though, so email me or comment here if you'd like access so I can add you to our YouTube friends list. ;-)

Presents for the Princess

Hey all. Several folks have asked me what Ade might want for her bday. Of course, we REALLY don't need anything more. But, if you'd like to get the princess a gift, I created a wishlist at Target.com (http://www.target.com/lists/3T9J6WQLXTOUH).

Ade is currently wearing size 12 mo., but she really has plenty of summer clothes! :-) The only thing she could use are some more summer pajamas. Otherwise, I am starting to look for some early fall clothes in 18 mo.

And, as always, Ade LOVES books. She can never have too many books. She is starting to enjoy puzzles as well.

Kisses from the little miss!

Visiting Beantown

Adelaide has made her 5th flight and it was a success. She was such a good girl - she got compliments from all of the other passengers. It is not easy to keep a squirmy kid entertained and restrain her from touching the top of other people's heads during the flight, but we did it. I think mom and dad deserve some praise too! ;-)

We went to the outlets in Kittery yesterday, and Ade was a great shopper. She took a big nap on grandma's lap while Jordyn and I shopped. We also had the 60th birthday celebration for Ryan's dad last night, and Ade enjoyed trying watermelon! MMMmmm! She is a big eater. She loves everything, and will eat right off other's people's plates. (She stole BOTH grandma and grandpa's breakfasts at different times on the same morning!) Hippo.

Here is the link to the zoo album. I uploaded video clips from my new Flip, but I might need to try uploading them to YouTube instead or something. I think you might need a different driver to view them from dotPhoto...

Here she is before we left for the zoo, enjoying a wagon wheel:

I started planning her first birthday party - can't believe it. She will be celebrating at the Falls River Swim Club on June 28. Evites have gone out. I guess I will need to print one for her baby book ;-)

I will leave you with Adelaide's studious stare:

101 posts

This is post 101! Wow! And I'm writing it from my phone!

So what a week - shopping, Mother's Day relaxation, my first book club, PW seminar at NCSU, spa day, bday dinner out, and today was zoo day!

I'll post pics and videos (using my new Flip!) soon, but for now I will say today was tons of fun. Ade liked the turtle best - who knows why - and wanted to climb in the enclosure. Other than a "I am too exhausted" meltdown on the drive home, she was an angel.

Happy Mother's Day!

It's my first mother's day! :-) It is also my 31st birthday this week.
Yesterday I went shopping all afternoon with Jenna and actually tried clothes on! ;-) I had a great day.

Today Ryan gave me both my mother's day and birthday gifts - a lounge chair for our new yard and an espresso machine. I am so excited to try out both. I took off Wednesday for my birthday and booked a spa day. I truly can't wait to be massaged and pampered.

Also this week in health news - Ade had a weird off and on fever, then a cough and runny nose. Then I was SO sick and miserable and couldn't even stand straight. Apparently I most likely had salmonella. Then Ryan and I both caught Ade's cold. I really can't remember when I used to feel healthy three days in a row.

Well, in terms of Ade's development, she just wants to walk any day now. She also says her words more clearly: Dada, Mama, Doggie, and Book. "Ba!" actually describes many things right now. For example, she loves going out to look for Birdies (Ba!) with daddy.

Also, a funny story about her sleep habits: She has a new teacher in her room at daycare, and I asked how she was doing with sleeping in the crib. The teacher said, "Fine... why?" As if I was asking the strangest question. I asked if she has been sleeping her naps in her crib, and she replied that she has taken EVERY nap in her crib! She is SO playing us right now... She is going on the crib for her naps from now on at home. Oh, that stinker... ;-)

Missing mommy

Last week I headed to White Plains to the IBM Learning Center to take a management training course (Basic Blue), and left Ade in Daddy's care for 3 nights. It was a traumatic event for all, but as Ryan said "Even if none of us like, it will be good for all three of us." I think he may have changed his mind afterwards, though...

Ade ran a fever the second day I was gone, and had be taken to the pediatrician from daycare. Other than being clingy and overtired, she had no symptoms and the fever quickly went away. She tortured daddy every night and wouldn't fall asleep. Ryan spent three nights with her sleeping on his chest...

As for my end of things, I was super busy so that kept my mind off how much I missed my baby. (For example, taking my MBA course final exam Thursday night after class ended.) But, I did watch the online videos of her often... ;-) Now I know how hard it is to be away from her, and I became a consumer of my own e-updates!

This week she is finally getting back to normal. It took her a few days of extra-clinginess to feel alright about life again. I really don't know how we are ever getting this child out of our bed... when she worked herself up crying for Ryan she triggered her reflux, so I think we can cross the Cry It Out method off the list.

Upcoming events... my bday (31!), Mother's Day, trip to Boston, and then Disney at the beginning of June...
I also have uploaded new pics to DotPhoto, so check them out.

Shout outs -
Welcome Ella Grace Malloy to the world!
Feel better Dana Peich, who had tubes put in her ears yesterday!
