Mostly it's been reaaallll hot

My memories of July largely entail heat. Extreme blinding, crazy hot heat.

Also, annoying fireworks. And too much travel and work.

We did enjoy a nice visit to MA, though they were in an awful heat wave. We got out and about and enjoyed doing some things we don't typically get to do, like the boys going to the Red Sox and hitting Crane beach in Ipswitch.

Ade has been getting along fabulously in her new 4 year old room, the Owls. Since she adores Miss Brittney and Miss Aimee and her friends, I thought this transition might be harder than in the past, but I underestimated her adaptability. In fact, her first week they had a visit from a scientist from the natural history museum, and she was amazed at the gossiped dinosaur poop. "It was hard like a rock!" Ryan was told this week that the boys in her class have all decided Ade is pretty and keep talking about it. Hmm.

We had a family photo shoot at the end of May. I'll leave you with a few of my favorite shots, and promise to write more often...

Little Miss Independent

This morning Adelaide noticed a bunny in the backyard and told Ryan about it. A few minutes later, Ryan saw the dogs were outside. Ade often lets them in and out now for us. This time however she was also outside. Ryan went out and asked what she was doing and told her she could not just let herself out not the backyard, and she said, "But daddy, I put my shoes on!" She just wanted to go see that bunny, so she went and out her shoes on and went outside.

I adore her self sufficiency. We told her she needs to tell us if she wants to go outside from now on, even though we know she can do it herself, and she agreed.

A few other Adelaide antics...
- During a crazy hot spell, I picked Ade up from school and she waved her hand fanning her face and exclaimed, "hot damn!" Who knows where on earth she heard this, but she pulled it off.
- Something was annoying her,and she said, "it's so exasperating!"
- She moved up to the 4year old room at school, and now instead of being a fox, she is an owl! Hoohoo!
