Chuck E. Cheese is the ghetto.

We know that Adelaide has been a big talker from a little age, but I am always impressed by not only her vocabulary, but her ability to express complex thoughts. Lately she has taken to asking about others' thoughts. For example, Aunt Jenna had a slumber party with Ade while Ryan and I went out to eat with the Franks (first time without kids in over 4 years!!!), and they watched Elf together. At one point, Buddy the Elf is looking out over a bridge kind of sad and forlorn. Ade said, "What do you think he is thinking?"

Saturday we did some girls shopping in the morning, where we found a leftover tiger costume at Old Navy for $4. Ade has worn it nearly all weekend at home.

We were *supposed* to go to a birthday party for Ella Black from down the street. However, Adelaide decided to sing in her crib for the first hour of what was supposed to be her nap, and then proceeded to take a 2.5 hour nap. By the time, Ade woke up the party was over. But since we had told her we were going to a birthday party, she thought we would be going to a birthday party! Ryan had the idea to take her to Chuck E. Cheese for the first time. So, we drove down Capital to where it is located in a fairly unsavory stretch, and we got an education! As Ryan put it, he can't recall a time recently when he had been more concerned that gang violence would break out. Adelaide, though, oblivious to the clientele, had a blast. She immediately understood she put a token in anything she wanted to play with, and she went to town. The place was unbelievably jam-packed. Who knew Chuck E. Cheese was a Saturday night hotspot? After some pizza, lots of games and rides, we cashed in our tickets. One of the workers thought I had pretty blue eyes, and gave me like 100 extra tickets. I thought we were set - Adelaide walked away with stickers, a lollipop, plastic ring/bracelet/barrettes, and some other very random junk. I have to load some of the pictures I took and add them to this post later.

For today, I leave you with Ade enjoying a Starbucks, some books, and telling Aunt Jenna what to do (just like her mommy):
