Bye pumpkins, hello mistletoe!

Last weekend I had plans to attend book club and spend all say Saturday in a 1-credit class. Instead, we took Ade to the last pediatrician appt on Friday and ended up treating her for the flu and staying home all weekend. The H1N1 swine flu epidemic has people terrified, but apparently Ade just had some small seasonal flu bug. She is old enough for TamiFlu, so it wasn't bad at all. In fact, it was a blessing in disguise. We all really enjoyed the weekend doing absolutely nothing!

This week I took Wednesday off to decorate for the holidays. I don't like to decorate this early, definitely not before Thanksgiving, but I am headed to Sweden on Sunday for a conference for a few days, which eliminated when I would normally have put up the holiday spirit.

We had Jenna, Jon, Dylan and the Franks over for Thanksgiving and it was such a great time! We split up the menu, and just chilled out. It was really a great time. Everyone pitched in, and there was barely any cleanup afterwards either, even with 3 toddlers!

Yesterday we got our Christmas tree, and Ade helped us decorate. The place really looks great now, I have to say. :-) I love decorating, and the fact that we are having a holiday brunch at our place this year meant I was even more into creating the perfect warm Christmas feeling with the decor.

I am not really looking forward to the crazy hours of travel to spend 2 days in Stockholm, I am going to try to enjoy what I can. I spent so much time on my trip to Surrey anxious and wanting to get home, that I didn't get to fully appreciate the experience. This time I vow to worry less, and enjoy more.
