Sometimes...
As Ade gets older, she does things like this:
And lying there kicking her feet and watching tv, she looks just like a teenager already!!! Plus, she also says things that are astoundingly sage. After she was tricked by a misleading gumball machine, I explained to her that the reason they made it look like there were better toys was so you would put in more money. She said, "Not everything is about money. It's about who you are and your character." True North, kiddo.
Sometimes we do art projects together as a family...
Sometimes we all snuggle up and read. Like her mama, Ade can finish an entire chapter book in a car ride home from the mall.
Sometimes I travel for work, and I eat meals like this from room service.
Oh, and look at this please - how adorable is Ade and her best buddy Cameron snuggled up on a play date?
My oldest gal turned 13!!! Chey-chizzle!
This winter we have gotten more snow than in multiple winters past. Fresh fallen snow tastes mmm. Ade is really a Southern girl though. 20 minutes to get dressed in enough layers, and after 10 min she is freezing and wants to come in to the fireplace and some hot cocoa.
With my cousin Brent working at PointSource now, and living here in Raleigh, we get the pleasure of seeing my Aunt Dee more often when they come up to visit.
My photo stream has some unusual selfies that Ade takes in the backseat when she is bored on a car ride.
Ade and Vivian play so nicely now. Jenna and I talked to one another for like a full 15 minutes without interruption for the first time in 3.5 years ; -)
Remember Cameron? Well, he gave Ade her first true Valentine this year!
Meanwhile, I gave Ryan something he didn't expect - a clay shooting lesson! Because Valentine's Day was snowed out, we went a bit later. But he was very surprised and it was some kind of fun. First time either of us have ever held a gun. Bucket list?
That front tooth has been loose since before Christmas, but it hung in and hung in forever. Ade was brave and yanked it out herself, and I wish I had videotaped the proud and astonished look on her face when she realized she had done it! 3 down now and a mouthful to go!
All of this hard work has been exhausting, but rewarding. I presented in NYC at an InformationWeek session on Trends in 2014, and it was such an awesome experience to be there on the credibility of my own mobile expertise and the PointSource brand. Feels good!
But, damn, I need a vacation. Disney, here we come in only a few short weeks!
