Girls weekend!

Last weekend , Ryan went for his annual fantasy baseball draft with his friends in MA, and I had Ade all to myself from Thu-Sun! Aunt Jenna and Vivian were sick, it was really just us, dos amigas.
Thursday night we kicked it off by heading to Milton's for Ade's fave salad bar, and to the used book store to trade in old books for some new ones.
Friday I took the day off and went to the outlets with my friend April, and then my friend Kristin and her boyfriend, Adam (or, The Brit) came over for dinner. Meghan from down the street kindly came to be a playdate for Ade, so we could enjoy a little grownup talk over yummy Indian food.
Saturday we did chores in the morning, and a craft project in the mix of course, and then headed for some lunch and shopping. When Ade got her Subway meal in front of her, she exclaimed, "I love my lunch!" Then she frighteningly picked out some dresses she thought would look great on me from Dress Barn (!). Sadly, they do not carry my size, so we had to move on empty-handed. At Carter's, Ade was in luck and we got her tons of stuff (inc. a tiara and binoculars), and she picked out stuff for her two cousins as well. In fact, because my girl is so sweet, she wanted to buy a watering can for a lady we met like 30 min ago at another store. She literally wanted to buy it, track that lady down, and give it to her as a present. After we had shopped and shopped, we grabbed some Target stuff for dinner, and headed home. Ade rested in my bed while I did some more chores, and then we cooked dinner. We headed to Krispy Kreme to watch donuts being made for dessert.

I had promised her that if she was a good girl for the 1st 2 nights, on the 3rd night I would let her have a slumber party in my bedroom with me. Here is where it got really fun. We got in our PJs, brought everything we would need into my room, and started to PAR-TAY! Ade insisted we put cream on our faces, have a dance party, wash the cream off, have a dance party, pillow fight, dance more, paint each other's nails, dance again, and then make snacks and settle in for a movie. We watched Despicable Me, and slept soundly all night.

Sunday we enjoyed gymnastics class and an early lunch at AppleBees, then hung out at home playing and waiting for dearest daddy to return at dinner time. Ade said we should bake a cake to welcome him home. She instructed that it should be blue, and it should say on it, "I love sports!" So, that is exactly what we made him. Ade literally ran with excitement when we heard him coming home to show him :-)
